A tonneau cover fits by bed length first, then by the model years of your truck, then by what is on the bed: the tailgate system, a RamBox or utility track, and the kind of liner. Pick your truck to see every cover made for it, with the maker's load rating, weight, warranty and the conditions that come with the fit.

Start with your truck and bed

Choose the model years that include your truck and the bed length on your window sticker, or measure the floor from the bulkhead to the closed tailgate (how to measure a truck bed shows where to hold the tape). A 5.5 ft Ford bed and a 5.8 ft Chevrolet bed take different covers, and the makers sell a different part number for each.

What decides whether a cover fits

• Bed length and model years, which set the rails and the part number.
• Tailgate systems: Multi-Flex, MultiPro, the Ram multifunction tailgate and Ford's Pro Access tailgate each exclude some covers.
• Bed systems: RamBox, CarbonPro beds, utility tracks and deck rails, and drop-in or spray-in liners.
• The figures that separate covers that fit: cover type and panel material, distributed load rating in pounds, cover weight, warranty years and install method.
