DiamondBack HD
Cover type: hinged one-piece, Distributed load rating: 1,600 lb
A distributed load rating is weight spread evenly across the cover; a point load is weight in one spot. Gator lists its FX3 at 300 lbs evenly distributed, SyneticUSA lists 500 lbs on its retractables, and Peragon lists a 300 lb distributed load against a 50 lb concentrated load on the Landmark. DiamondBack lists the HD at 1,600 lb dynamic and 2,000 lb static. Tyger's T1, T3 and T4 pages list none.
Peragon is the one maker we read that defines its terms. Its comparison page footnotes the on-road haul rating as "evenly distributed and securely strapped down" and the parked rating as "evenly distributed." DiamondBack prints a dynamic and a static rating without defining either. Peragon's Landmark overview lists a 300 lb distributed load and a 50 lb concentrated load, so a point load is one sixth of the distributed figure (calculated). GM's 2021 owner's manual insert gives the same rule for tailgates: distribute the weight evenly across the width of the tailgate, and do not put ramp loads on the inner tailgate alone.

| Retractable | Gator GatorTrax MX | 500 lb evenly distributed |

Tyger's T1, T3 and T4 product pages list a product weight (for example 73.63 lbs for the T4 on a Ram 1500 5 ft 7 in bed) and no load rating. Gator's Recoil, MT, Trio and GatorTrax Electric pages also state none. The BAK, Truxedo, UnderCover, Retrax and Roll-N-Lock install sheets we read contain no cover load rating. Rough Country's tri-fold manual says "Do not exceed rated weight capacity of Tonneau Cover" without a number. Retrax's 2025 sheet prints "Retrax cover with rack system= 125lbs" inside a note on adding up cargo weight, which we read as a weight to count, not a rating. Not sourced: the product-page ratings of BAK, Truxedo, Extang, UnderCover and Retrax, whose pages did not load as text.
SyneticUSA's MR PRO page says its rating is "for safety and structural reference only" and does not recommend placing objects on the cover. Its F-150 page lists "do not put any weight on top of the cover" among warranty conditions. DiamondBack says covers rated at 400 lbs can be stood on up to that limit.
The truck's door-jamb sticker and owner's manual govern payload and roof or bed loads, and the cover maker's labels govern the cover. A rating shown here is the maker's published figure, not a guarantee for a specific truck.
