Reading a fit chart: year ranges, exclusions and footnotes

A fit chart row is a year range plus conditions. The range tells you the generation; the conditions tell you whether your trim and options are inside it. Tyger's Ram 1500 cover is titled "fit 2019-2026 Ram 1500 (Not Fit 19-24 Classic)", so the years alone include trucks it will not fit. Read the exclusion, the bed column and the cab note before you read the part number.

The Ram Classic problem

The current-body Ram 1500 starts in 2019 in the FitsMyTruck vehicle table, which cites Ram's 2026 pages. Husky also lists a "Ram 1500 Classic" for 2019 to 2024 and gives it the same liner part as the 2010 to 2018 truck, while the 2019 to 2024 Ram 1500 Crew Cab gets a different part, 54608. So two trucks share the years 2019 to 2024 in one maker's chart, and only the name Classic separates them. The vehicle table does not cover the Classic.

Generations to watch

Ford's 13th generation F-150 runs 2015 to 2020 and the 14th starts in 2021; both list a 5.5 ft bed floor of 67.1 inches, yet Tyger prints two rows. The Silverado split is 2014 to 2018 and 2019 to present, with the 2019 LD and Limited names above. For the Tacoma, Toyota's 2024 e-brochure gives the 5 ft bed at 60.3 inches inside length against 60.5 in the 2021 brochure, and the 2024 truck needs the deck rail system for Tyger's cover. See the bed rail systems guide.

Reading years

A printed range such as 2015-2026 stops at the last year the maker checked. CURT's October 2026 guide prints end years as high as 27, so ranges move. CURT also marks its tow packages CWH, ADD and REPL, meaning for vehicles without an OE tow package, adds to one, or replaces one.

Five steps

  1. Name your generation, not only your year, using your truck's table in the bed measuring guide.
  2. Find the row whose year range holds your model year and whose model name matches, Classic, LD and Limited included.
  3. Read every exclusion and footnote against your trim, package, tailgate and rail system.
  4. Match the bed length column and the cab column; Tyger says cab size does not matter, Husky and WeatherTech do split by cab.
  5. Compare the same part on a second maker's page. The maker's tool and your owner's manual decide.
