Multi-Flex, MultiPro and Ram multifunction tailgates and tonneau cover fit

Four factory tailgates change tonneau cover fit: Chevrolet Multi-Flex, GMC MultiPro, Ram's 60/40 multifunction tailgate and Ford's Pro Access Tailgate. Tyger lists Ram trucks with the multifunction (split) tailgate as not compatible with its T1, T3 and T4 covers, while UnderCover and Roll-N-Lock publish install sheets written for the multifunction tailgate and for Multi-Flex/MultiPro. What each tailgate is

Ram multifunction	Ram's 6 February 2019 release describes 60/40 split swing-away doors that open 88 degrees and a 2,000 lb load rating. FitsMyTruck lists it as an available option on the 2019-present Ram 1500.
Mopar bed step (Ram)	Ram's 10 September 2020 release says the 82216265AB step deploys under the rear bumper, is load-rated to 350 pounds and is designed to fit specifically with the multifunction tailgate.
GMC MultiPro, Chevrolet Multi-Flex	GMC's 2024 Sierra 1500 brochure calls MultiPro a six-function tailgate. GM's 2021 owner's manual insert gives the tailgate step a 170 kg (375 lb) load rating, including a person and cargo.
Ford Pro Access	Ford's 2025 F-150 page lists an available Pro Access Tailgate, with the Bed Utility Package on Lariat. It does not state how the gate swings or any clearance.

The sheet shows 1/8 in of space between the track end cap and the tailgate.
BAK, Tundra BAKFlip sheet 318S0145 (3-18-24)	For power tailgates, confirm the tailgate works with the cover closed and slide the cover toward the cab if needed.
DiamondBack, HD page (2026)	The cover rests on the rails, bulkhead and tailgate and does not engage with the tailgate; "Auto-opening the tailgate via key fob may not work."
Rough Country, Ram retractable sheet C2D2-2306	Shut the tailgate with the cover closed; if the "Tailgate Ajar" warning shows, more clearance may be needed at the rail end caps.
Peragon, Tectonic vs Landmark page (2026)	Both lines are marked "Auto Tailgate Compatible."

Where the sources disagree

Tyger's own compatibility blog calls its covers "RamBox compatible" and advises Ram owners with multifunction tailgates to confirm configuration before purchasing, while its Ram product pages list both as not compatible. When a maker's pages differ, the product page for your cover and bed length is the statement to follow. The same split appears for RamBox in RamBox and utility track covers.

How to check

Match three items to the fit line: the tailgate name, the model years and the bed length. Compare the line with the bed floor lengths in how to measure a truck bed and the wording in reading a fit chart. Install sheets name their clearance checks: Roll-N-Lock shows 1/8 inch at the track end cap, and Retrax's PRO sheet asks for 1/8 inch of clearance at the tailgate. Not sourced: Ford's swing angles, and tonneau notes from Truxedo, Extang and BAK for Ram, Ford and GM tailgates.
