Editorial and AI policy

Every page on this site is built from a data table first and written second. Here is what that means in practice.

Drafting

The explanatory text on a page is drafted with AI from that page's data payload: the rows, values, sources and rules it is allowed to cite. The draft may not introduce a number that is not in the payload; a validator rejects any that does.

Checking

Software checks every figure in the text against the table. The FitsMyTruck team reviews each page before it is published, and the byline on the page gives the date of the last review.

What AI does not do

It does not invent measurements, test results, owner experiences or quotes. No page claims testing that did not happen. No page carries a persona or a stock photo of a reviewer.

Images

Diagrams and charts are generated from the data tables and labelled as drawings. Photographs are our own or used with the owner's written permission and credited. We do not use marketplace images.

Corrections

Errors are fixed on the page, dated, and listed on the corrections page.
